We have a neighborhood email group and I have been encouraging all the members to introduce themselves so we can learn more and meet some more people who have things in common… Anyhow, I have been running this group for over 3 years now and I just sent my introduction and wanted to post it here as well so that my kids will know what I was like in 2008! : }
I have lived in Cortina for almost 4 years. It was a very empty neighborhood when we first moved in and wondered when the dirt would go away! It is amazing to see all the growth! We have a fantastic group of people here in Cortina and I am excited about all the people that I hope to eventually meet.
Let’s see… what do you even care to know about me??? I love organization (don’t roll your eyes, I know, it probably is a sickness!) I love to be outdoors. I love reading (for all those people in book club-they never thought I would say that!) I love shopping but with my new and improved 2008 budget, shopping has become not so exciting anymore. I love spending time with friends. I love to laugh. I love naps. I love to swim, ride my bike, and I don’t love to run. I love to eat yummy food-especially when I didn’t have to pay for it (you great cooks know who you are!). I love SPANX. I love date night with my handsome husband and it is the only time we can finish full sentences when we try to talk to each other. I love small purses. I LOVE "lounge" pants. (I call it that so I am not in my "pj’s" all day.) I love my kids-a spunky and sassy 5 year old always putting me to the test to see if I really can handle all that she is, and a sweet 2 yr old who is just the opposite. I love to admire all of your many different skills and talents and wonder why I can’t do more of them!
I don’t have a job that pays me monetarily, I suppose my profession is something like a domestic engineer but I have not made it up to the engineer platform yet! I am still in training… A more appropriate title is "Apprentice," or "Aspirant" or even "Wannabe."
My resume needs to include some of my accomplishments… ; )
learned how to make bread last year for the first time in my life–better late than never
completed a marathon in 2007 (I won’t tell you how much I cried or how long it took–just know that I did cross the finish line)
completed many books for the first time in my life over the last 2 years–I do mean I read them cover to cover
completed 2 sprint triathlons and learned my new love–hope to do more in the near future
conquered a chocolate chip cookie dough recipe
learned that I actually do like to cook?!?!?!?! Crazy, huh!
OK, enough is enough!!!! That pretty much covers it– not exactly short and to the point but since I was in my own spotlight, I just kept going. AND if you are still reading this and didn’t delete after 1-2 sentences, then I will tell you a secret… I am from Mesa, AZ. Yep, born and raised here in good ‘ol AZ. Not many of us stick around but as boring as it is, I am here to tell you that I am a true DESERT RAT. If I ever move again (lived in CA for 2 yrs) I might wither up! Good secret, huh?!
So, that was me in a nutshell sending it to about 250+ women. I have had some replies from people who said they enjoyed confirming things they already knew about me. I guess I pretty much am who I am.
