Oceanside Pictures
We goofed off the last day and did some funny pictures. I hope to have a copy soon-they are on Candice’s camera. I took out my camera once-so sad! BUT, I took out my VIDEOcamera once and if you know my flickr spot-go there and laugh! The one time I took out my camera, we were eating hamburgers at Village Grill. It was all so delicious so what could be better than capturing a delicious hamburger?
Just some pictures
I am finally home and catching up with some of my journaling of my summer thus far.
Zane found a new grandma while we were at White Horse Lake. He loves Kristen’s mom, he followed her everywhere, sat on her lap and just would not leave her side.
we spent the day kayaking and skipping rocks. That is Geoff showing the kids how a pro rock skipper does it.
We parked it on the banks of the lake and enjoyed the beautiful scene and weather. Ok, so the water doesn’t look so beautiful and it really wasn’t. It is the true color here in the picture, a little on the brown tone side. : )
Here I am in my new PINK kayak. One of my runs was with Fui. He did not feel so secure on my kayak while his family was back on shore. He didn’t take his eye off his family and even made an attempt to ride on the front of the kayak. I was a bit panicked thinking he would have a very long swim back to shore!!!
Good times at White Horse Lake!
Zoe graduates
thanks goodness we are only talking about kindergarten! Her teacher, Mrs. Kochis, made cute pillows for all the students. This is a picture I had from the last day…
Wrapping up
Its my last da here in Oceanside. I should be sad and I am but really
excited to go see my family. Yesterday was a beach day. We lounged
around, slept in and burned our bodies in the sun while playing Tetris
and watching a young couple make-out next to us. We grabbed Dominic's
for dinner and walked and shopped the evening away. We bought Pam a
shirt that said:
49% Trailer
51% Trash
It was so funny. We didn't mean that as an insult, we all laughed
together, including her. I also found the perfect gifts for my kids
(sorry Tim, no souvenirs for you). Pink Flip-flops for Zoe and a train
whistle for Zane. What says, "I missed you and thought of you while in
Oceanside, CA," like those gifts? ; )
It has been so long since I have been home and I am trying not to
think about the stuff that needs to get done because then I start to
feel overwhelmed and a little anxious.
We are returning today-getting back some of the money we have
overspent. We all have bought stuff that we brought back here and no
longer want. It is part of the routine here-last year we did the same
thing, buy and return!
We are headed out soon and then packing up to go home. I am ready to
get back to routine for a few days. I am ready to exercise (I haven't
eaten as many M&M's as I did last year!). I am ready to wake early. I
am ready to look at my accoubts and feel balanced every day. I am
ready to clean up my office and get pictures to their rightful owners.
I am ready to get booty loads of laundry done. I am ready to swim with
my kids and take Zoe to swim lessons. I am ready to cook a meal.
Well, all this for a few days, then we leave again. : ). Just like
any summer should be, right. Just escaping the heat!

My day
Wake up (early by accident), cheerios with whole milk (what?),
shopping, hamburgers, beach/read/nap, pedicures, breadsticks and
salad, shopping, The Proposal.
Great day. Smiles. Sun. Laughs.
We are headed home to hit the sack with our new mumus. I now have some
girlies in the mumu club with me.
I am truly grateful for a new sunrise each day. I am grateful for Pam
(and Pam's favorite things) and all the fun we have while we are here
with her. She is so giving. I am grateful for my stretchy pants-they
are comfortable no matter how much I eat or what I am doing. I am
grateful for Nuvi-we are getting around just fine. I am grateful for
some creative financing at the concession counter at the movie
theatre. I am grateful for white noise. There are a million fans in
this place. I am grateful for the opportunity to come back here. I
love the sand a sun and I am having fun. Thanks for the invitation to
come back.
Goodnight!

More catching up
We made it home from our camping trip. The bonus, we are still married
after hitching up and towing home the trailer. We might just own one
someday.
It was fun. We loved having the Johnston family there to keep us
company and be our camping friends. We kayaked, walked, lounged and
played house in our rented RV.
I will post pictures when I am home for atleast 36 hours.
For now, I am heading to Oceanside. I was there last year and I am
going back to enjoy the beach again. It seems like I crammed too much
in my calendar (and I did!!!) But I didn't want to pass up the camping
or a trip back to oceanside. I have some high hopes of finding a great
purse. : )
So, back to dominos and M&M's. Last year, it was July. This year, it
is earlier and a bit cooler (another chance to beat the heat).
I want to post all the good times when I can but I am trying to lose
my computer reputation (sticking with the Blackberry reputation
though).
Tim, thanks for holding down the fort while I escape. Thanks for
camping, even though I know how you really feel about caping.

Some zoe funnies
This morning, Zoe tells me:
Mom, I need to do some exercises this morning, ok? Do you want to
know why? (Sure) well, when you wash my pants and put them in the
dryer, they shrink so now they are tight on my bum and my vagina so I
need to do exercises like this (squatting over and over) so they are
comfortable.
It was so funny! I then overhear her mentioning her "to do" list and saying:
Let's see, I need to wash my face, put on my make-up… Brush my teeth.
She is 6!!!

Keeping track
We rented an RV for a fun camping trip at White Horse Lake- just past
Williams, AZ. (So far, parking an RV has been a true test of
patience. Ok, the honest trith is that backing up and parking an RV is
more than a test of patience! It is a marital test that we barely
passed today!). It only took us 8 hrs to get here due to a few stops
and last minute RV shopping. : )
It is absolutely perfectly beautiful up here, the weather is all of 65
degrees tonight. Zane is so amazed by it all. He keeps repeating,
"This is incwedubo Mama," but that could be because the grand Canyon
Rail Station is in Williams.
It is also Father's Day today and I am quite simply the worst mama
ever and big time loser. We had been in the car for about 2 hours when
I finally realized what day it was. I did nothing-no breakfast in
bed-nothing. I feel so terrible about that! Tim, I am so sorry! You
really are an INCWEDIBO daddy and we are so grateful for you and the
sacrafices you make for us!
We have seen deer and tonight we are doing the classic camp trick
called Roasting Marshmallows. We have learned a bucket load of stuff
about an RV-we started taking notes so we would be more prepared when
we have our own someday.
As a matter of fact, I know what I want to be when I grow up… A
campground host. SERIOUSLY! You see peopole as they come in, greet
them and hang out in the raw life all day long. Think of the people
you could meet, the naps you could take the places you could see?!?!
I am tellin' ya… The gentleman that is our host has a mega
motorhome, unlimited water and propane for free, drives his golf cart
around to check on the guests and deliver fire wood. Seems like the
life! He has hosted 5 different campgrounds and apparently is quite
happy hosting with his wife and little chihuahua named Princess.
I could have my camera instead of a dog!
Anyhow, back to the camplife… I sure love the great outdoors! I am
tring to stay on top of this trip so I am not behind with my vacation
report and memories. My camera is with the good people at Canon
(repairing Error 99-whatever that means) so it is another vacation
with my favorite purse companion.

Paisley turns 1
I can’t believe it… this little girl is already 1.
She is so precious. The only problem is that she doesn’t seem to love me as much as I love her. I am still working on our relationship. : )
More on Prescott
ok, so back to the post wedding… let’s see, Zoe said some dislikes about the wedding… blah blah, then we headed to the reception in Chino Valley. (Oh, my dad dressed as some character from MASH. I have no clue why but just chalk that up with my dad’s sense of humor!)
At the reception, Zane discovered some chickens and he was desperate to catch them but he wasn’t so lucky.
Zoe was resisting a picture but it doesn’t look like it here-seems to be having a grand ‘ol time.
Then there was Paisley being entertained by my dad and his costume!
And then my dad’s side of the family…
Dad, David (wearing my dad’s hat), Aunt Donna, Aunt Lori, Ken. David was the groom and Ken is his brother. They are both Aunt Donna’s boys.
Zoe was the photographer most of the reception. She loves to be in charge of my camera. It is great. They also had little cameras on all the tables for other people to take pictures. These pictures are simply for proof that I too attended the wedding. : )
The bride and the groom (and the famous tattoo)… the last time I saw David, he was sporting dreadlocks and backpacking all over. He is super talented-plays the viola- and is one of the nicest guys ever.
As we were leaving, I saw this line of mailboxes. I suppose you don’t see this here on the streets of the valley! (Too bad I left all my camera stuff at home-only had my camera in my purse for this weekend.)
The next day, we went to the lake and had a day of lounging and kayaking. The only one that didn’t seem to love the kayak was Paisley. I think the life jacket was a bit much for her. My kids love to get in my kayak with me-we all fit just fine. They like to pretend that they are the captain of my boat. It was a super fun day. We packed a picnic and hung out at Lynx Lake from 9:00am-3:00pm. The breeze kept it cool outside and it was just a fantastic day and weather.
So, the highlight of our kayaking excursion was this…
Ken kept telling his wife how easy kayaking was (which it is). He convinced her to go out. They all loaded up and not more than 2 minutes later, I turned to see Ken floating and the boat sinking. I couldn’t stop laughing. Of all people… Ken is a pilot and has had to do some pretty serious training stuff so it was hilarious to see him the one to tip. Too funny (sorry to laugh Ken but it really was some good entertainment!).
Lindsey and Tvedt drove up to play at the lake with us. Lindsey stayed the night with us for our last night there.
It was a fun trip and thanks to VRBO we were able to find a great place to stay at the last minute.
phew…
