this won’t be a post about all the cool slushy flavors or flavored sodas (sorry to disappoint you Tim), just a recap of our quick trip to CA.
Tim was gone for 10 days in Germany and was scheduled to come home Saturday night but then had to turn around and go to CA on Sunday. I decided I was going to drag my kids to CA so we could spend some time at Disneyland and hang with Tim on his free moments.
1. he had no free moments
2. we stayed at a totally separate hotel
It wasn’t quite the family vacation that I had thought it to be but we had fun. My mom and dad decided to visit Disneyland for the first time in 15 years and at the very last minute-I mean VERY LAST minute, Lindsey decided to not miss out on some fun too. We all left at 6:00am, Tim was sound asleep (remember he just returned from Germany) and hit the road with plans to arrive around the lunch hour.
We went to Disneyland as quickly as we could! It was so fun to see my mom and dad try to remember all the rides and experiences at Disneyland. Lindsey’s kids were going for the first time too and were having a great time. My mom had enough with the tired and whining kids so she bought a stroller for all of them. She was ready to conquer that dang Disneyland and didn’t want slow, complaining children to stop her! : )
Zane’s favorite is the Haunted Mansion (referring to it as the Haunted House) and Zoe’s favorite is Pirates of the Caribbean. I still love Soarin’ Over CA. I LOVE it, I LOVE it!
Meanwhile, Tim flew in to LA, stayed downtown, and was never able to come hang out with us.
We came back home on Tuesday night. Me and the kids piled in my bed and we all fell asleep within moments. It was wonderful!
I am tired, but what else is new. It is nearly 1:00am but I am still trying to stay on top of things while Tim is away. I don’t have the luxury of saying, “I need 2 hours to get stuff done. Can you please entertain the children?” Nor do I have the ability to say, “You are in charge of putting the little loves to bed tonight.”
I will be so excited when he is back home with us-the kids will be so excited because now when they are mad at me, Tim will actually be there to rescue them.
