Sunday

without comments

I just right now decided something…  Tim is in charge of everything on Sunday!  He is a fabulous cook so he can totally handle the kitchen, no problems.  He cooks and cleans.  BUT, the children are also his duty on Sunday.  (when I was reading a book, watching him cook and man the children, I decided that I would like to see this more often on Sundays!)  Then, I went and played in my studio with my camera.   (In addition to cooking a fabulous meal, he delivered a hot and steamy treat to me…, let’s call it Afternoon Delight)

Why would I ever go back to the old way of Sunday?  My plan will go over smoothly, I’m sure.  : )

Over the weekend, I took some pictures of Zoe.  She is hilarious and so independent.  Isn’t parenting somebody just like you quite the task?  ALSO, I was busy having my cute niece over here for the week and I had so much fun trying to be tricky and get some pictures of her, it turns out that necklaces are her currency.

7 going on 25

without comments

So, just wondering… should I be worried?  I do like those shoes but since I never wear them, I suppose she is putting them to good use.  She loves to dress in these things with my jewelry and walk around the house like she is ummmm, well… hot stuff.  : )  She is a little too anxious to be a teenager (and I am a little too anxious to keep her little forever).

Love her

without comments

We have been taking care of Paisley this week.  She is such a pleasure to have around-always smiling and saying , “tink you,” for everything I give to her.  She is a special little girl and there were moments when I was willing to trade 2 for 1 (my 2 for 1 of her).  She is adorable…  don’t you completely agree!!!  Too bad we have to let her go home today.  Maybe TJ will take my 2 and leave her here???  : )

It’s time…

without comments

Why does everything have to do with time?  Seriously, everything.  (btw, I love when Zane says, “cirius mom.”)

I’ll get to that

not now, later

in a few minutes

when you grow-up

just a second

tomorrow

not yet

almost

not time yet

let’s get going

we’re late

hurry up

what time is it?

I can’t wait

just wait

in the future

this week

next week

next year

etc. etc. etc. etc.

the list could go on and on but let’s get to the point already.  My everyday consists of at least 1/2 of these clusters of words.  Why am I always driven by time and what the clock says?  There are moments when I wonder how many times I have said, “In just a second…”  It makes my shoulders tense to have to say that or hear myself say that.  Don’t you ever want to be completely irresponsible, throw away the clock, be late and not care, not show up, lay in bed, go slow, not care about tomorrow, or next week?  What would that be like?  Some days I want to grab by the horns and tackle and some days I want to do the above-throw away the clock.  : )  Can I have my cake and eat it too?

Hold out your hands to feel the luxury of the sunbeams.  ~Helen Keller

When in doubt, take a bath.  ~Mae West

You must always be curious.  ~Walt Whitman

Forget your mistakes but remember what they taught you.  ~Dorothy Galyean

Make each day your masterpiece.  ~John Wooden

Each day comes bearing its own gifts.  Untie the Ribbons.  ~Ruth Ann Schabacker

A little secret

without comments

OK, this needs to stay between me, myself and I.

We had painters come the other day to fix all the walls that had patches of undecided colors, holes from previous decor, staples, markers, putty, etc.  When they were here I was thinking how wonderful it was to have such a detail oriented crew-moving everything out of the way, covering everything with plastic, and taking all things off the wall UNTIL I saw this…

refrigerator

I suddenly was feeling gross.  I couldn’t believe that the back of my refrigerator looked like THIS.  HOW could it be?  I am a pretty clean person.  I was wishing they weren’t so thorough because not only do I now know (and might have to throw up) but now THEY know too.  This is not good.  Not good at all.  What is worse is the amount of time it took to clean this.  I have no idea what it was but it wanted to stay there for good.  I scraped, rubbed, scrubbed, and wiped until this section of my floor looked like the rest (which may been just as messy-but that is neither here nor there).  When is the last time you cleaned behind your refrigerator?  Am I the only one that has completely forgotten that a floor exists back there?

The good news… I found my Costa Vida magnet.  : )

My morning

without comments

Sometimes getting out the door is quite a task!  We have Paisley to add to the mix and so at 7:05, I was making waffles, starting my shower, waking up Zane, changing Paisley’s diaper, encouraging Zoe to NOT complain about clothing or I would take her in her underwear, starting Zane’s bath, packing lunches and backpacks and trying to remember to scrub my teeth like never before.  Our 7:30 dentist appointment was right around the corner and we were only 5 minutes late.  Not bad.  Zoe loves the dentist and Zane went for the first time.  It was all a success.  Paisley sat on my lap while they cleaned my teeth.  She was a bit scared to do anything but sit tight with me.  : )  Yeah, a moment she counted on me for some love and comfort!!!!!!  I’m winning (maybe??).

We were cleaned and heading out of there by 8:30, had Zoe to school by 8:50, Zane to preschool by 9:05, to my “getting my skirt hemmed” appointment by 9:30, wasted time at Target (finding Zoe a super funky something for a photo shoot) from 10:15-11:15, picked up the boys from preschool at 11:30, here for lunch and play until 1:00, Jase to play and Paisley for a nap and me to my computer to post THIS.  Ahhhhh…  A completed feeling and reading to move on to the next task…  Zoe home from school, rush her to piano, wait for 30 minutes, off to look at a sofa (remember we are practically furniture less since we have sold so much), then home for homework, dinner, baths, stories and BED.  After bed I have a Webinar and then I will complete my time blocking sheet for tomorrow AND THEN to bed I go to get enough rest to make it through the next day which is choir day.  Some days are like this and some days are not.

Another weekend

with one comment

This past weekend, my sister Kristie came in town and we all (mom, Lindsey, Lauren, Kristie, and me) experienced a spectacular girlie weekend!  FIRST, on Friday night, my mom arranged to have Jen from Glitter Toes come over to paint all of our toes with some awesome glitter product that stays on for 6 weeks.  I would link back to her BUT she doesn’t have a website yet.  Don’t be surprised about the fact that I have GREEN glitter on my toes!  Love it! Then, on Saturday, we went shopping and to the MAC make-up to have our faces painted.  I have done this before and stayed motivated for about 3 weeks, then painted faces lost its thunder with me.  It is work-and time!  Anyhow, it was fun to get this done for a special weekend with us girls.  With our make-up on and our fancy toes, we went to Gammage to see Mary Poppins.  It was spectacular.

Our weekend was wonderful in every way.  Too bad its over.  Life goes on, right?

The case of the missing Zane

without comments

I couldn’t find that little rascal today.  We have had a house of chaos… painters, garage sales, and a messy house.  I was trying to get something done (and by the way, Zoe came home from school and said, “Mom, no my teacher knows you are always on the computer.”  I was curious as to what started the conversation and topic so of course I inquired…  turns out that the teacher asked the whole class about mothers who work on the computer and Zoe gladly volunteered the truth about her home and said, “My mom is ALWAYS on the computer.”  So, now note my time… 1:24 am, yep AM-just trying to lose that title of always being on the computer!) so I was distracted for a few moments in my office.  I hollered for Zane and no reaction or sound.  I started trying to find him.  Since he is in that most HATED stage of always hiding, I never know if I should worry or keep looking.  Today, I kept looking and thought I would humor him.  Turns out that he just needed a little cuddle time out with Doggie.  I found him on the floor in my room, wrapped up in my leopard Snuggie blanket with Doggie by his side-just resting for a bit.  I went back to get my camera before he saw me.  After he noticed me and the camera, he asked me to take all sorts of shots of him with Doggie-so cute!

ZaneDoggie

Don’t let this picture deter from the truth!  He has been quite the stinker lately!  I’m glad I saw this (and captured it) because it reminded me that deep down inside, he really can be a sweet boy.  : )

The rodents

without comments

anybody else invest in these things lately?

ZhouZhou

The good news is that Zoe and Zane play fabulously with these things.  The crawl up you, make squealing noises and have names.  What more could a kid ask for without it being real? At Christmas time, they were hard to come by but now we see them on the shelves at Wal-Mart.  I would much rather see these things with cute colors than a real one running around in my house!

What is twitter?

without comments

You’ve seen the little blue square with a “t” in it, right?  I remember hearing the term “Twitter” and wondering what it meant to tweet, and to who, and WHY?  Then, I was sent this Twitter explanation on YouTube.  Ah-hah.  I loved the idea and was excited to use it.  I linked it up to Facebook and started playing-like talking when no one is listening.  Just thought I would take note of Twitter.  Certainly, one day it will be replaced by something else and I will be telling my great grandchildren about how cool it was while being driven around in their flying cars…
