Zane loves that bike of his. He is getting faster and more confident. I love his little face as he rounds the corner with such pride. There was a day when he could barely get his foot to pedal one in front of the other!

Hi daughter of mine. You are funny, and write interesting things, and always make things interesting for everyone. I am happy that you have found a new home for your family and making the best of every day even if you can’t find your way around. Getting lost creates new experiences. You make friends where-ever you go, so in a few months you will be surrounded by new and interesting people. The problem is, it doesn’t get dark that far north until late in the evening, so it’s a whole new experience for kids who don’t want to go to bed at 8:30…”mom it’s not even dark outside yet!” I used to live in Billings, Montana — one of the five states we moved from and to when I was in Jr. High and dad was transferred by Shell Oil five times in two years. Billings was the hardest place to get used to because it was still daylight when I used to be in bed sleeping when we lived in Houston, Texas. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and tell you that I love you and miss you and Tim and the kids. It has been awfully quiet around here. Maybe it’s time for a spontaneous road trip to say… Yellowstone?! We can meet there, that’s about halfway between Phoenix and Kirkland, isn’t it? Or, is Salt Lake better? Remember, it can snow in Wyoming any time of the year, especially on the 4th of July when Arizona non-believers are there. Question: How come mom would never stand still long enough for me to take photos, and never cared one twit about it? But, aren’t you glad I fought for our rights and took my Nikon’s with us everywhere we went?! I still have those 25 photos I took of the boiling same mud in Yellowstone with mom waving at me to hurry up. Trying to explain to your mom that boiling mud was not easy to take photos of didn’t make any difference! I have never found anyone else like you who can make a strawberry more interesting than the subject holding the strawberry. Must be those creative genes, or maybe your were watching me taking the photos of the boiling mud with mom yelling in the background. Tell ZoZo and Zaner I said hi, and that I miss them a bunch. Hope to see you soon…before the snow flies. Love ya, Pop.
