The ice cream truck

iceCreamTruck

I just had to stop when I heard the tunes!  Ya know that sound of the ice cream truck coming closer and closer?  I haven’t visited the ice cream truck since Jr. High School.  I had Zane and Jase on a bike ride with me but they weren’t quite as excited as me.  They didn’t know what that sound was or what it meant!

We cycled quickly to our house to pick up some money and get back before she pulled away.  They both pointed to the picture of Fun Dip and said that is what they wanted.  Me, I picked the ice cream sandwich and it was a delicious cold treat.  : )  We ate our treats on the curb and then rode our bikes back home.  What a fabulous Saturday afternoon activity!

Having fun at the park

Man, look at those smiles (and some interesting teeth).  I wish I could be mother of the year everyday and play at the park!

My morning

without comments

Sometimes getting out the door is quite a task!  We have Paisley to add to the mix and so at 7:05, I was making waffles, starting my shower, waking up Zane, changing Paisley’s diaper, encouraging Zoe to NOT complain about clothing or I would take her in her underwear, starting Zane’s bath, packing lunches and backpacks and trying to remember to scrub my teeth like never before.  Our 7:30 dentist appointment was right around the corner and we were only 5 minutes late.  Not bad.  Zoe loves the dentist and Zane went for the first time.  It was all a success.  Paisley sat on my lap while they cleaned my teeth.  She was a bit scared to do anything but sit tight with me.  : )  Yeah, a moment she counted on me for some love and comfort!!!!!!  I’m winning (maybe??).

We were cleaned and heading out of there by 8:30, had Zoe to school by 8:50, Zane to preschool by 9:05, to my “getting my skirt hemmed” appointment by 9:30, wasted time at Target (finding Zoe a super funky something for a photo shoot) from 10:15-11:15, picked up the boys from preschool at 11:30, here for lunch and play until 1:00, Jase to play and Paisley for a nap and me to my computer to post THIS.  Ahhhhh…  A completed feeling and reading to move on to the next task…  Zoe home from school, rush her to piano, wait for 30 minutes, off to look at a sofa (remember we are practically furniture less since we have sold so much), then home for homework, dinner, baths, stories and BED.  After bed I have a Webinar and then I will complete my time blocking sheet for tomorrow AND THEN to bed I go to get enough rest to make it through the next day which is choir day.  Some days are like this and some days are not.

He’s growing

with 2 comments

I suppose that means in every way!  He actually sits in the chair without wiggling and causing a scene!  The sad news… the haircut is terrible and to the point of being embarrassing.  He sat great the first time but not sure how it will be the second time around.  hmmm…

Rainy Days and Mondays…

without comments

last week we made a visit to Disneyland, trying to put our annual passes to the very best use.  We left on a Sunday afternoon and did Disneyland for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  Well, it didn’t stop raining practically the whole time we were there.  It made for a very wet and cold vacation BUT there were some perks to that… nobody was there.  We went straight to the front and on the ride most of the time.  By 2:00pm we were soaked and cold and ready to call it a day.  The kids did much better than I thought they would.

I only pulled my camera out on the first day and then realized it was a lot to carry around if I wasn’t going to be using it so I left it buried and hidden in my suitcase at the hotel.  There was so much rain on Mainstreet (mid calf) that the ducks were floating down Main Street, USA.  That was a funny sight!  We made a visit to Wal-Mart trying to find rain suits-NOT JUST A PONCHO but apparently all of CA wanted the same thing because Wal-Mart and Target were out.  We bought rain boots for the kids and those too were out at most stores.  Needless to say, Disneyland made a killing on ponchos.  I asked one of the workers if Disneyland made enough money that day with the sales.  He told me that basically the price of the poncho covers storage since they make so many and have to store them somewhere.  WHAT?  Oh well, lines or rain-which one do you want?

She always has something interesting to wear.  On this particular day it was a white tank, a pink sweater, a brown skirt, navy knee socks and purple shoes.  She was feeling confident and off to the park we went.  I would shop at all the cute stores and buy the cute matching clothes but it would be a waste of my money and effort.  She is a free soul.  She often asks me, “Mom, do I match?”  My answer is, “Not really but do you feel good?”  She usually does feel just fine and COMFORTABLE.  I think that is her ranking with her clothes… the level of comfort that it offers.

I love to see what she will round the corner wearing.  She has a few favorites and wears them out so when they are being washed her only option is to get creative.  I don’t argue the comfort thing.  I am all about comfort too!
