Home for a surprise visit

Anybody that knows me knows that I love a good surprise! I joined Zoe and Tim on their visit home, showed up at 8:30am with my bag and Zane on my parents’ doorstep. Needless to say, my mom was surprised. My dad seemed confused like he was supposed to know but didn’t so he went along with the game but my mom seemed honestly and truly surprised. Fun times to be home with family!

Tim had planned to see his buddies and go on his annual Man Cup Golf Tournament trip. Zoe said all she wanted for her birthday was to go home to AZ. Well, that left me and Zane behind. : ( So, what is a woman to do? Yes, add 2 more to that reservation! We all caught the first flight out at 5:15am which meant a 2:00am wake time. It was scary but exciting. I sat first class on the way to AZ (thank you Tim) and slept-it seemed like the shortest 3 hour flight ever. Zoe said it was her bestest weekend in her entire life. She went to see The Little Mermaid, shopped, saw grandmas and grandpas and opened presents. Who could argue with her? I’m surprised she agreed to come back to WA with us.

Remember how I am “out of office” (forgot my camera) and had to ask for party attendees’ pictures?

Yes, Zane had a birthday, he turned 4, had a Thomas the Tank Engine cake and pizza to eat. We had lots of family with us and here is proof.

I am on a involuntary mental vacation. Zane’s birthday was Sunday (shared the day with Mother’s Day), the same day we got back from Seattle. I felt terrible about not being able to spend the day with him but thanks goodness for family. TJ and Lauren took care of him and sang to him and made his day special. His pizza dinner at Peter Piper Pizza with family was Monday and I forgot the camera and candles for the cake. Again, I felt terrible about that. How could I forget my camera? I will be begging for other’s pictures of my son’s 4 yr old birthday. : (

I haven’t thought much about my journal. Right now it seems like another “to do” task. So, I am officially marking myself OUT OF OFFICE.

This was a complete surprise to Minda, this personal birthday performance. We were at Brios and when he walked in, our server was a bit nervous, not knowing what he would do (like we would have Chip n Dales or something??) Anyhow, her face was the greatest, we never get to see her terribly embarrassed. It was a great song, he has a beautiful voice and all those sitting around us were quite entertained! Sorry for picture overkill but if you had to pick one, which one would it be?
