I guess you could say that we haven’t seen parks like this. We are determined to discover all the parks in the area and there are many. Each one is unique and fun. The first one we discovered is what we call the castle park. The weird thing about parks is the bark as the ground. Zane has had about a million splinters in his feet but thank goodness he now wears shoes. We sure wish we had Paisley, Brynn, Gage, Jonathan, and Brendon out here to play and imagine with us. Ok, Jonathan and Brendon might be a little too old but maybe they could be the bridge trolls? : )

Here is the latest of our family pictures, maybe I should say Kid Pictures, prior to family pictures? We scheduled our family session with Justine Miller Photography and this was the pre-session. Zoe was dancing and obsessing about her “smooth/not puffy hair” and teaching Zane some choreographed moves. They rolled in the grass, started sweating, and made many grass stains on their jeans-all in time for Justine to arrive for our family photos. The first picture below (the one of Zoe flashing the classic peace sign) is her cute smile! I loved the picture because it was real! The next one-ARGH, she wouldn’t leave her hair alone. She loves to have it straightened but rarely let’s me do it for her. That day was an exception but I realized she can’t keep her hands out of it when its smooth. It’s as if her hair was 18 inches longer. : ) Zane looked very handsome in yellow! I will have our session pictures soon!

My kids (ok, let’s be honest-my KID named ZOE) has a tendency to really bother her brother. It is almost like she loves to hear that scream, that screech, that cry, that yelp or that sob. She just walks by him and pushes him, grabs at his clothes, bonks his head, etc. Ok, I realize that I may have the only household in America with children that bug each other so please feel sorry for me. Sometimes there loudness and Zoe’s unwillingness to leave the poor boy alone drives me bonkers and makes me want to do the same things to her. Doesn’t that sound totally mature and reasonable? I thought so! Anyhow, we went to dinner at Joe’s Farm Grill tonight and while we were sitting outside on the table finishing our dinner, Zoe thought it would be funny to grab at Zane’s face and do this:

He actually didn’t make much of a fuss. He ended up thinking it was funny. I should be grateful because we could have caused quite the scene (like they do at my house every single day). Actually, let me back up and tell the real story because I think it started here (as reviewing the pictures tells the true story): Ah-hah… so this is where she is learning things like this! Well, someday Zane is going to be big enough and strong enough to give her a taste of her own medicine (did I just sound like a mom from the 80’s? My mom always said that to me-did your mom?). I am looking forward to that day but until then, he will just follow in her tracks and do crazy things but he has nobody to bother but himself… I do love my kids and there are days that I question my sanity and the level of love. : ) I better correct that… today has been a rough day. It has been spring break, going on week 2 now. I am trying to keep the little ones entertained while trying to find balance and time for my “work” and how about some quiet time for me? Does that sound selfish? That’s Ok, I might be done being polite after today! Its OK, tomorrow will be better-sleep always makes things better, right?

This is Gage, my nephew. He will not be found without a weapon. Whatever is his latest love becomes his weapon of choice. For example, for a long time he loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and he carried his bow and other TMNT weapons around. The best part is how creative he gets with his holster… Today, he showed up with a “pirate sword” in his back, through his t-shirt, tucked in his shorts. Then in his hand he still carried his favorite TMNT weapon-I am still not sure what it is but it looks like a plastic stick. I decided THIS had to be my picture of the day!

So, see his belt around his body, holstering his plastic stick looking weapon, notice the brown boots and the sword in his back. Totally a pirate, wouldn’t you say?

last week we made a visit to Disneyland, trying to put our annual passes to the very best use. We left on a Sunday afternoon and did Disneyland for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Well, it didn’t stop raining practically the whole time we were there. It made for a very wet and cold vacation BUT there were some perks to that… nobody was there. We went straight to the front and on the ride most of the time. By 2:00pm we were soaked and cold and ready to call it a day. The kids did much better than I thought they would.

I only pulled my camera out on the first day and then realized it was a lot to carry around if I wasn’t going to be using it so I left it buried and hidden in my suitcase at the hotel. There was so much rain on Mainstreet (mid calf) that the ducks were floating down Main Street, USA. That was a funny sight! We made a visit to Wal-Mart trying to find rain suits-NOT JUST A PONCHO but apparently all of CA wanted the same thing because Wal-Mart and Target were out. We bought rain boots for the kids and those too were out at most stores. Needless to say, Disneyland made a killing on ponchos. I asked one of the workers if Disneyland made enough money that day with the sales. He told me that basically the price of the poncho covers storage since they make so many and have to store them somewhere. WHAT? Oh well, lines or rain-which one do you want?
